Manzel Craft is a family-operated, woman-led business which means smaller overheads and more savings for you. According to OSHA reports, in the US less than 9% of the construction workforce consists of women. Manzel Craft is not only woman-led, but also prides itself on giving back to our local communities through our LOVE (Local VendorsEmpowerment) Initiative, founded to support and give back to our local community. We uphold this promise in two ways:
Since we opened our doors in 2016, we have donated over $200,000 in home materials to local charities. Empowering our community through this support is yet another we live up to our motto that there is Power in Craft.
Not only do we give back to our local community, but our company prides itself on valuing our environment. We purchase lumber from sustainable forests, reformulate finishing materials to reduce hazardous wastes and emissions and take measures to practice environmentally sustainable practices to ensure we can enjoy our gift of natural resources for years to come. 75% of all our lumber comes from suppliers that participate in one of six certified sustainable forestry practices: The Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC), Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI), Canadian Standards Association (CSA), Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC), American Tree Farm (ATF), and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO4001). All our composite wood materials meet the California Air Resources Board (CARB) and EPA TSCA Title VI regulations for formaldehyde emissions.
In addition to supporting environmentally sustainable lumber, we also strive to reduce our waste in manufacturing, improve on equipment to reduce energy consumption, reuse sawdust and other byproducts in environmentally sound practices, reduce emissions from our finishing programs, and employ a very aggressive recycling program.
In recognition for our pledge to environmentally sound practices our manufacturing plant was one of the first to receive the Environmental Stewardship Program certification from the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturer’s Association and has been awarded this certificate every year since our first.
